My name is Jodie Clements and I am aware that as a counselor, I am one member of a very important team that comes into contact with your child. This team is made up of you as parents/caring adults, the teachers and other school personnel.
I have a Master’s degree in counseling and am certified by the state of Arkansas. I come to this team with special skills in human relations and problem solving.
I work with children individually and lead developmental guidance lessons in the classroom. I also work with teachers, specialists and the principal, helping them in their work with children. Usually referrals to outside agencies or others in the helping profession are channeled through me.
I am one member of the team who can help your child have a positive school experience. As a parent/caring adult, you are the most important person in your child’s life. We know that you care and are concerned about your child’s progress in school We care and are concerned, too.
Please feel free to call me at 839-2236 or email me if I can be of help to you or your child during this school year.

An Elementary School Counselor believes:
… children have dignity and worth as human beings.
…children learn best when they feel good about themselves and their relationships with others.
…children who understand their feelings are better able to control their own behavior.
…children are capable of making responsible choices.
…attitudes formed during elementary school shape future attitudes toward leaning, self and society.
Considering the above beliefs, all children deserve to have elementary counseling and guidance services available to them, not just in a crisis situation.
