Mr. David Schieffler
Social Studies
Mr. Schieffler teaches American History, World History, and AP United States History.
In 2003, he received a B.A. from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennesee, and in 2005, he finished his M.A. in History at the University of Arkansas with a thesis entitled "Too Little, Too Late to Save Vicksburg: The Battle of Helena, Arkansas, July 4, 1863."
Mr. Schieffler has been teaching at West Fork High School since 2005. Called "Opie" by some of his colleagues, he's happy to report to them that he is no longer a "greenhorn."
In his spare time, he's been known to do a little fishing (of the fly variety), including chasing Ozark smallmouth for miles on end. He also enjoys spinning records; when asked what kind of music he likes to listen to, his response was, "Alternative-country...whatever that is."
Mr. Schieffler is the faculty advisor for Model United Nations and the 2006 champion of the WFHS faculty NCAA tournament pool.
