 Mr. Taweel is beginning his fourteenth year as Director of Bands at West Fork School  During his tenure the West Fork Bands have consistently earned superior ratings at region and state level competitions.  Mr. Taweel teaches and coordinates the Tiger Marching Band, the Symphonic Winds, the West Fork Jr. Band, the middle school beginning band, and general band methods classes at West Fork School.

 Mr. Taweel studied with Robert Bright, Eldon Janzen, and W. Dale Warren while earning his degree from the University of Arkansas.  He graduated with a BSE degree in 1990 and an MMED degree in 1992.  While completing his graduate work, Mr. Taweel was assistant to the director of the Razorback Marching Band, the Hogwild Basketball Pep Band, and the UA Concert Band.  Mr. Taweel is the recipient of the 1998 Arkansas Phi Beta Mu Outstanding Young Band Director Award, and the 2000 ASBDA – UMI Distinguished Young Band Director Award.

 Mr. Taweel’s professional affiliations included the UA Alumni Association, the Arkansas Bandmasters Association, Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association, Phi Beta Mu, and the American School Band Director’s Association.

 In his spare time he enjoys mowing, jeep four wheeling, and home improvement projects.  He is married to Katrenia, and is the worship leader at First Baptist Church in West Fork.
