Janie Harriman serves West Fork High School as guidance counselor.

Mrs. Harriman grew up in Fayetteville where she was a 1971 graduate of Fayetteville High School.  She graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics Education, and the same year married her long time friend and sweetheart Doug Harriman.

West Fork High School is the only place Mrs. Harriman has worked.  She began teaching home economics here in 1976 and taught for three years until taking a leave of absence to give birth to her first son, Nathan in 1979, and her second son, Drew in 1981.  She returned to teaching in the fall of 1983, and taught home economics until completing a Masters Degree in Counselor Education from the University of Arkansas in 1991.  The 2004-2005 school year is Mrs. Harriman’s 25th year at West Fork.

Mrs. Harriman enjoys jogging/walking, cooking, and reading.  She and her family especially enjoy vacationing on the Florida beaches.
