School Board Minutes
August 13, 2007
There was a regular meeting of the West Fork School Board on Monday, August 13, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. in the board room. Those present were Karen Daugherity, Tim Helder, Jerry Boyd, Deborah Harnish, and Daryl Quinton.
- The meeting was called to order by president Karen Daugherity.
- Pledge of Allegiance was led by Karen Daugherity and prayer by Tim Helder.
- The board toured the facilities.
- Motion by Tim Helder second Jerry Boyd to approve the minutes of the July meeting. Motion carried. (5-0)
- Motion by Jerry Boyd second Daryl Quinton to approve the financial statement. Motion carried. (5-0)
- Mr. Skelton and Mr. Karnes gave their reports.
- Mrs. Barrett gave the superintendent’s report.
- Motion by Deborah Harnish second Daryl Quinton to rescind the May 14th approval of school choice applications. Motion carried. (5-0)
- Motion by Tim Helder second Jerry Boyd to approve the attached list of student transfers. Motion carried. (5-0)
- Motion by Daryl Quinton second Deborah Harnish to approve school choice application for Robert Battershell. Motion carried. (5-0)
- Motion by Deborah Harnish second Jerry Boyd to approve an increase in milk prices from .25 to .30. Motion carried. (5-0)
- Motion by Tim Helder second Daryl Quinton to approve the bread bid from Harris Baking Company. Motion carried. (5-0) See attached.
- Motion by Tim Helder second Deborah Harnish to approve the attached school election resolution. Motion carried. (5-0)
- Motion by Daryl Quinton second Jerry Boyd to accept the resignation of Stacy Harris as middle school math teacher and Samantha Everett as elementary aide. Motion carried. (5-0)
- Motion by Deborah Harnish second Tim Helder to hire Melissa Crowson as middle school math teacher. Motion carried. (5-0)
- Motion by Tim Helder second Jerry Boyd to hire David Pratt as bus driver. Motion carried. (5-0)
- The board retired to executive session.
- The board returned to regular session.
- Motion by Deborah Harnish second Daryl Quinton to adjourn. Motion carried. (5-0)
