School Board Minutes

August 14, 2006

 

There was a regular meeting of the West Fork School Board on Monday August 14, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the board room. Those present were Jerry Boyd, Karen Daugherity, Tim Helder, Daryl Quinton and Deborah Harnish.

 

I.              The meeting was called to order by President Jerry Boyd.

 

II.           Pledge of Allegiance and prayer were led by Tim Helder.

 

III.               The board decided to postpone the tour of the facilities until next month when all of the summer projects should be finished.

 

IV.       Motion by Tim Helder second Daryl Quinton to approve the minutes of the July meeting. Motion carried. (5-0)

 

V.           The board reviewed the financial statement.

 

VI.       Motion by Karen Daugherity second Deborah Harnish to approve the tuition agreement with Deborah G. Dunston Adolescent Treatment Center. Motion carried. (5-0) See attached.

 

VII.      Motion by Daryl Quinton second Tim Helder to approve the tuition agreement with Ozark Guidance Center/Therapeutic Day Treatment. Motion carried. (5-0)  See attached.

 

VIII.     Motion by Tim Helder second Daryl Quinton to approve the attached school election resolution. Motion carried. (5-0)

 

IX.       The principals gave their administrator reports.

 

X.                 Motion by Deborah Harnish second Karen Daugherity to approve the transfer of Nicholas Jones from Springdale. Motion carried. (5-0)

 

XI.       No action was taken on the bond refunding. Mrs. Barrett is going to do some research and they will have a special board meeting later.

 

XII.      Motion by Karen Daugherity second Deborah Harnish to approve the resignation of Katie Wilson as high school math teacher. Motion carried. (5-0)

 

XIII.     Motion by Karen Daugherity second Daryl Quinton to hire Bob Payne as special education teacher at the middle school. Motion carried. (5-0)

 

XIV.    Motion by Deborah Harnish second Karen Daugherity to hire Jessa Bogart as high school math teacher. Motion carried. (5-0)

 

XV.      Under other Tim Helder asked about the feasibility of having a middle school store or some way to purchase school supplies through the school. Mr. Skelton will research the possibility.

 

XVI.    Motion by Tim Helder second Karen Daugherity to adjourn. Motion carried. (5-0)
